inflatable art - sculpture

What do you think about this?
In what framework does the artist think he could buy the copyright to make this "original work"?
Did he mention the original author in the work?  Does he have to?  If he bought the right, then, its recognition that he used something and thats why he had paid for it.

If he did not pay for any rights, then that is outright "stealing"...
